Wahana Estate

Floral blackberry aromatics lead into flavors like apricot, concord grape, and jasmine.

In Sumatra near the city of Lae Mungkur farm owner PT Sarimakur cultivates this Rasuna varietal. This is a rare find in Indonesia where traceability in coffee is often extremely difficult. On the Wahana estate at an altitude of 1300-1500 meters only the ripe cherries are picked and go through the washing process. Rasuna a varietal hybrid of the highly productive Catimor and the long producing, complex cup profile Typica varietals create a harmonious integration of these two coffee’s best aspects.

PT Sarimakur is also working to improve the coffee and lives of farmers located near Wahana, providing advice, distributing shade trees as well as coffee seeds, and processing the ripe fruit of other small growers.
